About me

Hey, My name’s Brian. I am a former insurance auto damage estimator. Well, technically the job title was “auto damage appraiser”, but it really doesn’t click with people as well as damage estimator, yah know?

Anyway, I am currently in the final stages of getting a degree in Management Information Systems (Basically the tech degree for business majors) from the University of Houston, GO COOGS! I am currently a active member of the Management Information Systems student organization, MISSO, as well as both major Computer science student organizations at UH, CougarCS and CodeCOOGs, the latter because I had worked with several of their members during a hackathon and thought they were cool so I decided to join up, and the former I was dragged in involuntarily by one of the officers because I knew how to set up a specific type of discord bot.

I am currently specializing in data visualization and analysis tools/programming languages, such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Python (I’m mostly using it for scripting work at the moment, though I have a solid understanding of the Pandas and NumPy, along with an interest in Tensorflow for Machine Learning applications.), and a bit of R (Currently not as strong as my ability in Python, but I’m getting there).

Professionally I am almost supernaturally efficient at my work, I would usually complete damage estimating assignments in almost less than a quarter of the time of my peers (usually less than 1 1/2 day turnaround vs 6 days for other estimators.). I even got a system in place to write my reports and damage estimates so I could get a days worth of them done in less than 30 minutes, which would take me roughly an hour and a half if I wasn’t using the system.

All in all I’m pretty good at whatever I put my mind to, and any company that takes an interest in me would not be disappointed in what I can do!
